Solved Cant create or join games

Hi all

First of id like to say hi to everybody...so hi everybody

Ive managed to install the game from ur instructions on the website but when i try to create a game it shows a loading bar and then when there is like half a centimeter remaining it says unable to join server even if i have chosen create game

Cant even choose player number for game

Should i reinstall and do the procedure again or any of u guys have a solution?

I really want to try the game because i never had the time to do try it out

 

The original game is about v1.09. After you installed Diablo II and then installed the expansion - Lord of Destruction, did you patch it to 1.13c? Without the patch it won't let you create any games.
If you installed the patch did it install correctly, because the final window is about the same, but with different writing on it.

 

just tried to patch it again and it says i already got it so it wont patch again..
will try to uninstall the game and reinstall it again

 

Give me a heads up when you do that, meanwhile I'll see about something else causing the error, cause I downloaded already patched to 1.13 from a torrent site, but I remember the struggle with installing, changing discs and stuff and when something go wrong and you have to do it all over again..

 

Ive tried reinstalling but still the same thing...
Can start the game fine but when i try to create a game it wont let me...

 

Have you tried with a different character and do you use the loader from the website?

 

jep tried with a character i already started and tried to create a new one to but nothing works...
Should i be able to see public games listed?
If i should then i dont see that either

 

If you haven't played for a while here and/or your character is created as NON ladder, you won't see any games what so ever, because after the restart of the server all old characters were moved into non-ladder and also there is a tick when creating your new char if you wanted as Ladder or NON Ladder.

 

I have never played D2 at all......When i start a character i cant choose ladder anywhere

 

When choosing a new character there are usually 3 ticks below "[ ]Expansion Character, [ ]Hardcore, [ ]Ladder Character" If you wish to play with the rest then Expansion and Ladder should be checked. If you wish to play Hardcore then it should as well. But still, problems with CREATING games is connected with your installation. If you can, try finding an already installed (archived) 1.13 version of the game and then install the REALM PATCH, that is available in the website.

 

when i choose start new character i can only choose from expansion character and hardcore....nothing else

yea will try to fin another copy

 

Also be sure that you are not clicking "Other multiplayer" and then "Open battlenet" because that won't let you create a LADDER character.

 

I did click the "other multiplayer" but now when i click battlenet i get a message that saya port6112 is not open...
i have opened both 6112 and 4000 on the router....but this message keeps comin

 

Did you forward them to TCP?
Diablo II:
Allow port 6112 TCP out and allow established sessions in
Allow port 4000 TCP out (realm games)
Allow port 4000 TCP out and in (hosting open games only)

 

yep the gameguard logo pops up, and yep im running from europebattle.exe

keeps saying port 6112 is not open but i go into my modem/router and open port 4000 and 6112 but nothing works for me
i have disabled firewall in router but that didnt help either
i personally think its my ****modem/router that wont accept my changes

 

Are you portforwarding those to to your IPv4 address?
Start -> RUN (or in the search box type CMD) and hit enter. In the window that pop's-up type ipconfig and a couple of rows will be displayed.
For example I had to portforward 3 ports, because people couldn't access my TeamSpeak3 server aaand sometimes the address changed (IPv4) so I had to re-forward those.
I guess something in your forwarding is not going right, if you are able contact your internet service provider and ask them to do that for you, they shouldn't say no (at least mine didn't for the first time).

 

Yep i have done all that without succes
I have even followed a guide on my providers website without luck
I have mailed the for a sollution so i will have to wait for an answer..

Im thinking of bridge the Modem/Router and just use it as a Modem and the connect it to a router of personal taste....But i have a tv service threw my internet provider and dont know if the tv service will work if i bridge it....

I now think i have tried it all
I have followed guides for my router/modem about portforwarding and done all this without succes
I have fixed static ip without any good results
I have tried with firewall off both on pc and on router
i have set the modem/router in bridge mode but still it says port 6112 is closed
Ive tried with a different router and opened ports on that one but still does not work

I am running out of options here guys
The plus side is i can play fine on singleplayer but i ant to play the game with all of you
