Not sure if I remember correctly, there was some kind of content preview (realm update) at the end of the previous ladder. Is it going to be the same this time as well?

If you're asking about patch notes and the new realm update, then yes they'll be available by the end of this week, most likely during this weekend.

He means, do we have time to test the new patch before the ladder reset. As Gix mentioned, looking like yes. I hope I understand it right.

The patch will be open to all players, so that after testing, opinions can be expressed on whether there are any bugs or any other ideas to add or update.

I doubt, the content itself will be up for debate.

New realm patches are always pushed to the main server a few weeks before ladder resets to make sure everything is stable and works as intended, just as it did in closed beta. It was the same last reset as well.

    Hi.
This ladder, ladder which started on the date of 27 october 2023 (and about to end), previously had a 1-2 week for testing the new patch.
    Here you go mate:
https://forum.europebattle.net/thre...runewords-new-level-85-areas-and-more.547205/ - check at the announcements subforum
And, from my memory, I can tell certainly that time I created a runeword (Bullwark) which obviously worked.
Also: the enlarged lairs from act2, and the one thing that for myself (and all pvm kings) became love at first sight - the multiple concomitant shrines :)
    Amazing.
What I`m trying to communicate is that by judging past facts, this time the added up through a new patch, can not be bad at all.

IMHO, melee characters have consistently lagged behind casters and ranged builds in both leveling efficiency and endgame performance. While spellcasters like the Sorceress or Hammerdin can clear large packs of enemies from a distance with powerful area-of-effect skills, melee builds are often forced into dangerous close combat with limited crowd control and much slower clear speeds.
Introducing melee splash damage would help address this imbalance by allowing melee attacks to deal partial damage to nearby enemies. This wouldn’t make melee overpowered, but it would reward the inherent risk of close-quarters combat and breathe new life into underused melee skills and builds. It would also expand viable build diversity and make early-to-mid game progression less punishing for melee-focused characters.

Yes, the patch notes will be available later today, together with the new patch.

Also, while this isn't a suggestions thread, the melee splash feature has already been suggested separately before and based on all the feedback I've read as well as testing it, we'll most likely leave it aside for now. Sure, melee classes are often forced into dangerous close combat, but that's why their survivability is also higher, so it balances out. However, if we require additional feedback at any point, we'll create a separate thread about it or discuss it in the existing one.
