I reinstalled diablo. updated to 1.13c and got the realm patch. But every time I try to create a game in using join/host game, it fails. Any idea why?

Make sure you install the server patch correctly (you probably did that already since I see you marked the thread as Solved)

Actually, I didn't mark it solved (or I did accidentally --- dunno how tho) .. Uhmmm, when i install the realm patch, I can connect to battle.net but when I try to play using TCP/IP Game, it fails.

Nothing wrong then, you have to connect through the battlenet button not TCP/IP one as that's open battle and d2 servers are closed battle. Go ahead and connect through battlenet, create an account and join the Diablo II main channel

Hehe, actually when I log on to battlenet, I can't play 'cause of so much delay. I wanted to create games using TCP/IP so that I can transfer my items from one character to another since I can't enjoy playing on battle.net itself. Sorry if this is such a bother.

You can't do that then, TCP/IP is open battle and has nothing to do with private servers, you'll have to connect through the battlenet button to play. Also, the delay may be caused by your internet service provider or your country location.
