How to "bug" eth items?

I'm curious as to what the process is to bug items here.
Is it something along the lines of socketing say and eth Andariel's Visage with a random rune and clearing the socket 3 times via Hel rune? I know bugging white items seems to involve making a runeword in the item a few times and clearing it. Am I correct?

You are correct - this works for any eth armor. Dunno for uniques though, if you try it out (obviously with a Pul rune) please post the results.

 

Coldet instructed me on how to do it. Any rune will do (I have not tried with jewels or gems). Basically I socketed the Visage at Lazruk, then loaded up some Hel runes and TP scrolls and got some random low runes to socket the helmet with (el, eld, nef, doesn't really matter). I socketed and unsocketed via the recipe a total of 6 times. The defence of the helmet now is about 4300+. I tried the process a 7th time but there was no change so I assumed 6 is the maximum number of upgrades.

I have an eth 21 all res Sacred Rondache. I will try doing the same with it maybe later today to see if it works. In the past I was told I needed to make a runeword in the white items in order for the recipe to work, now I am not so sure. It would be awesome if it works with any random socketables, or at least random runes that do not need to form a runeword. We'll see.

That's good to know. Have you tried making runewords with enhanced defense mods in non-superior eth items? I'm sure one guy made me a bugged forty with a non-superior eth AP.

 

I made Treachery 3 times on a non-ed AP, the defense only decreased. Haven't tried a superior yet. Treachery doesn't have ED mod, so that maybe a reason.

 

Maybe like ferrum suggested there needs to be at least a pul rune in there. ATM I am hoarding all Fal+ runes so I cant afford to experiment. Perhaps in the future I will try to test the theory.
Today I had an eth Sacred Rodanche @38 all res and 3 sockets drop. This is a great base to make a bugged Exile. I'm eager to make it happen, but I doubt it is considered GM to use bugged items in duels...

 

As far as I know, Exile is banned for dueling.

 

Fair enough, life tap is not exactly balanced for PvP.

True, I was confusing it with Dragon. I guess that base is worthless then

 

I think, this bug doesn't work on this server. I tried to "bug" eth SR and no additional defence received.

 

Additionally to "Eth Bug" white armour items you need to first make "Stone" rune word and remove it a few times - If I recall 4 times maxed it.

 

Eth bug, 2 options:

1. Get a eth SUPERIOR white item, put anything in it (gem/rune/jewel...) and Hel+Tp in cube. Deffense will increase each time until base def is maxed.

2. Get a eth Non-SUP white item, put any runeword that adds enchanced deffence and Hel+Tp in cube. Deff will increase each time you make the runewrod and remove it, until def is maxed.

 

I made eth merc armor with 2k+ defense. Process:
get eth +ed (superior) armor,
socket with stone runeword (shael um pul um)
remove runes.
defense increases to max after rotations.
Then you can make forti into it.

I see confusion here. Look at this:

As you can see - no ed here. What I did was found any eth armor with 3 sockets and made Duress (ShaelUmThul) and removed it with Het + tp until I got max defense. Took about 5 times, don't remember.
If there is any faster way of doing this, let me know.

 

I have Sacred Rondache 4 socket, 6%ed 30res, put anything in it, scroll hel to unsocket -> Defense decreased.

Wanted to make a Bugged Exile

Anyone know why and how?

 

Make Exile in it about 3x to get 6k - Also It Must be ETH

 

So i have to make a runeword with enhanced defense right? With armor it works with stone right?

Any cheaper runewords for x%ed Eth armor.
