Infinity-Insight. Which weapon (Polearm/stave) Should I use?

Is it worth to use eth weapons too?

If this is an item for your merc, then Eth is the way to go. Since items do not lose durability when on the merc so you dont have to worry about anything breaking.. Id say best ones to use are Eth Colossus Voulge, Cryptic axe, Thresher and War scythe.

Hey, thanks for the answer. I will start finding them, but I need one with 4 sockets. So if I found one without sockets, can I socket it? Or wheres a good place to find those eth weapons?

 

Best dmg insight you can make is in an eth CV, you can find it at griswold in tristram.


for socket you can use socket quest from act 5 first quest.

or you can do it in coube , but u will not get the max sockets all the time , they varies depending on your luck

Socketed Items - Normal Items

1 Tal Rune + 1 Thul Rune + 1 Perfect Topaz + Normal Body Armor => Socketed Body Armor of same type
1 Ral Rune + 1 Amn Rune + 1 Perfect Amethyst + Normal Weapon => Socketed Weapon of same type
1 Ral Rune + 1 Thul Rune + 1 Perfect Sapphire + Normal Helm => Socketed Helm of same type
1 Tal Rune + 1 Amn Rune + 1 Perfect Ruby + Normal Shield => Socketed Shield of same type



Socketed Superior Items

1 Ist Rune + 1 Pul Rune + 1 Perfect Topaz + Superior Armorr => Ramdom socket Superior Armor
1 Gul Rune + 1 Fal Rune + 1 Perfect Amethyst + Superior Weapon => Ramdom socket Superior Weapon
1 Um Rune + 1 Ko Rune + 1 Perfect Sapphire + Superior Helm => Ramdom socket Superior Helm

Well any socket quest done on a pole-arm will give it 4 sockets so if you have one saved then use it on that! also i replied to your message about finding socketed items on your other post

 

I haver another question, I want a Spirit and I need a shield with 4 sockets for my sorc. Which shield should I use?

You need a "Monarch" easily found in cows and also at griswold

Thats really about it. Other than that your stuck with a lidless or make your spirit out of a Eth Monarch and that lowers the str req a bit.

The Orange is just from your maphack, It comes up Orange because those are items you want to take a look at so they make them more visible then others, same with Runes

its orange in maphack because it is superior item is all really and yes u can make runeword in those same as in white items just cannot use magic(blue) or unique/rare(gold/yellow) items.

P.S. not neceserilly superior but still might be orange depending on what maphack colors u have lol but in any case yes u can use it for spirit

 

yess,allways use eth stuff on mercenarys! if you are assa/sorc/jave run infinity else run eth reaper's toll.

maybe your mph changes color? try it, runes r cheap any way.

 

to make it clear;
eth cryptic axe is the very best merc base. people tend to use eth cv because larzuk's sock quest will always provide 4 sockets, however sock quest on eth ca gives 5 sockets so you have to random sock it with a cube recipe (makes it hard to get the 4 sockets)
someone calculated the dps (damage per second) some time ago if you are interested you can search it in the dephts of google.

all in all people use eth cv because its easier to get than eth ca 4 sockets, even though eth ca is better.

 

why?
both have the same base speed [10] and the same average damage ( 91.5 vs 90, *1.5 if eth).
so can you give reason why you tell ca is better than cv?

maybe the reason is lower str req? but here u can use boots+gloves+ring++ so it is easy to get str fot cv, andy gives 25+str and it is enought.
