Guide Pitzerker barbarian for pits

Today I will be making a Pitzerker barb guide for you guys. Basically the Pitzerker is a barb which carries a ton of MF and has one job - farming bosspacks in any lvl84,85 areas and using item find on their bodies. The pitzerker should be killing unique and champion monsters in Level 84 and lvl85 areas only.

1. Where to put stat points?
Strength: Invest enough to wear your gear (Enigma!)
Dexterity: Just the necessary for the equipment, mainly because of the 2x Phase blades and Grandfather.
Vitality: Everything else.
Mana: No need to put any points here.

2. What skills should I level up?
Masteries:
Max Sword mastery
1 point in Increased speed
1 point in Iron skin
1 point in Natural resistance

Warcrys:
Max Item find
Max Battle orders
1 point in Battle cry
1 point in Howl
1 point in Shout (rest of your points go here)
1 point in Find potion (optional)
1 point in warcry


Combat skills:
Max Berserk
1 point in concentrate attack.
1 point in leap (optional)
3. What gear does the pitzerker need?
Head: Shako socketed with Ist.
Armor: Enigma, MP or AP.
1 Weapons: (Grief PB and a Phase blade socketed with 6 Ist).
Or (Grandfather or Grief phase blade with Stormshield isted or chamed).
Switch: Wizardspike and Suicide Branch, both socketed with Ist.
Belt: Tal-rasha belt, Goldwrap or Arachnid mesh.
Gloves: Chance guards or rare/crafted gloves with MF and other useful stats.
Boots: War travelers with 40+ mf.
Amulet: Rare/crafted amulet with +2 barb skills, +5% fcr, MF + mods or Mara as alternative.
Rings: 2x Nagelring, 1x Nagel and 1x fcr/mf/mods

4. What should I have in my inventory?
Cube and TP/ID books as usual.
Torch and Anni, the higher the better, attributes are more important.
Gheeds with 40% mf. (optional)
Small charms with stats such as 3md/20ar/7mf, 7mf/rez or just with mf - as many as possible.

5. What merc to use and the gear for it?
Nightmare Act2 Offensive (Might aura)
Head: Guillaume's face or Andariel's visage, socketed with Ral or ias jwl.
Armor: Treachery.
Gloves: Dracul's grasp or Laying of hands.
Weapon: Insight in an Eth polearm base.
Boots: Goreriders or goblin toes.
Ring: Carrion Wind.
Amulet: Highlord's wrath.

6. How to play the Pitzerker barb the proper way?
This build was made strictly to speedrun any level 84,85 areas while having a ton of stacked MF. The Pitzerker focuses on the unique/champion packs in both levels of the Lvl84,85 areas and ignores the regular monsters. Use switch (Wizzy + SB) to teleport ontop of a bosspack, cast Howl to make the peasants run away, switch to Grief + Isted PB, kill the main guy of the pack, use Item Find on the corpse, repeat, profit.
If u encounter magic immune unique mob use Concentrate attack ability to finish him off.If u doing baalruns public or private u can use warcry skill to stun waves off.
U can kill baals with this guide but it will be time consuming But u can do nithalak runs very easily.

It's a very nice build indeed, not very popular on the server actually. The legend says it's the most effective pit MFer in general. I'm personally more of a singer barb pitrunner fan myself (2nd most effective), because you don't have to swap between main/switch and you basically shout at stuff while the merc does the killing. Anyway both builds pretty much have the same purpose, and that is demolishing (only) unique mobs in the pits.

Thumbs up for posting it. You can always add some more stuff to this guide ofcourse, maybe get into detail "how to pitzerk 101", show some stats and what Gix said- layout is kinda important.

P.S. Teleport is a must, the whole build can be flushed down the drain without it. Effective magic finding is basically the balance between movement speed, kill speed and tons of %MF. By saying this I mean that Skullders Ire is not really an option for the armor, Enigma is pretty much the one and only choice with it's huge MF bonus and ofcourse the teleportation.

P.S.2 How much %MF do you got with the kill setup (grief+6ist pb)? Just want to compare it with my singer.

 

The reason it is not that popular here is because of the increased drops MF does not play a huge role in this server. The way it needs to be modified to be viable in this server is to get items for maximum monster killing potential and on off-hand you need more faster cast rate, so you can Item Find through dead bodies faster. I don't mean to sound rude, this is merely my opinion and as far as magic find goes, many people would agree. I appreciate the fact that you put in some time to write it, it does not look like it is copy-pasted, congratulations for it, but it definitely needs some styling.

I just realized that Fortitude is not a good choice for your mercs armor, because it can cast Chilling armor and this will cause monsters to shatter when killed, which means you won't be able to use Find item on those. We want to avoid that in any means, therefore Treachery is the best cheap option.

Just thought I should mention that in here.
