New Players Guide: How to obtain Ber (Jah, hrs...)?

Sometimes some players enter game and ask me (and I suppose not only me) this question. After spending sometimes typing again and again the same (with my weak English ) I decided to type the answer here. So I have some basic advices for all of newcomers.

1. If you're a new one I recommend using sorc (Blizzard or Light build) or hammerdin. You can find some basic stuff in travincal nightmare/hell (very hight chance for uniq drop HERE).
2. Farm to find runes. You should run fast, if it takes a lot of time to clear area or to kill boss, try smth else (lower lvl area), untill you become stronger. Hell.
2.1. Countess here has good chance to drop rune up to Lo. If your sorc use cold spells - merc can kill countess, use static to help.
2.2. Cow level, travincal and, if you are strong enough, 85 lvl area [pit for hammerdin (tamoe act1), tunnels (Lost city act2) for blizzard, Hcs (Diablo here ), worldstone]. Not only runes, but also white (grey) bases, magic, rare, uniq stuff (sa, diadem, df, sd) can be found here - for sale or for your own use.

3. Trade
40 Perf gems or any 40 jewels can be sold for ~Ohm-Lo. This is an easy way for a new one to get some runes.
Why people buy it? For craft items. Sell it or try to craft, good craft = many Bers. Medium - maybe Sur-Ber~. Most popular are caster amulet and blood ring. Use 93+lvl char for craft amulets, ~76+ for rings (read more about lvl affixes for more information) (buy magic in gamble).
Also reroll 85ilvl (94+ilvl - if u can find it) grand charm. gc+3pg in cube, repeat until you get smth nice.
4. Gamble and trade
In travincal you can find a lot of gold. Better to use golder barbarian (maybe sorc blizzard with many Extra Gold?)


Spend it for gamble in any act any difficulty, buy coronets (your char should be 87+ lvl because of magic level 8) and circlets (92+lvl) , amulets 95+lvl. It takes a lot of time and many millions of gold. Don't worry if it takes 50 000 000 + gold, it's ok. You can sell a good circlet for many Bers.
5. Check Events :thumbup1:
Important.
What to sell to get good runes: ofc, perf and good stats uniq.
Bases for runewords: superior ba, ap, monarch, gmb, eth cv, <- these can be dropped by grisvold in tristram hell, dusk, mp, mb, paladin shields st, sr, vortex others - etherial ~40@ll res and not eth good @. white wands for white runeword 0 or 2 soc with +3 spear (+bone spear...), elite claws for assa 0/3soc(i'm not shure about this 3ls+ skills mb? wp? sm? venom? smth else...), staff for memory rw 0/4soc +3 es (+ca), war pike eth (+ed).
Magic Rare Craft: no one wants to pay Ber for 2 random shako+lidless wall+soj. But smbd will pay well for some rares. Here are few prtscrs with some good stuff, try to find smth like this.







I’m 99% sure that I miss smth, I think smbd can add some useful information in comments.

maybe smbd can add information - for example about assa claws? Is it worth smth if don't have 3ls? which skills assa needs?

 

Wasn't the mausoleum (Act 1) the area with the highest areal MF Rate of TC88 or something like that ?

Nice guide man! Really helpful for newbies! BTW First char if you have no items should always be BLIZZ SORC! Best char to do Hell Bosses with bad items!

 

i believe all area 85 lvl are good, you can check TC with your mph, i did - all monsters in worldstone and trone of destruction had 87TC (if i can trust to mph )

 

I don't use hacks, not even if they are allowed.

 

I always use blizz sorc when I start (after reset or at new server) so I absolutely agree that is why i wrote Blizzard and not Blizzard in my first post.
she can do hcs or baal runs without Torch, annih, skillers, with cheap stuff, merc use reaper (maybe not eth, it's ok), treachery and it is enough for him to be able to kill immunes.
Any way light and hammer are much better then, for example, bow ama or druid summoner or boner - as first char >_< for real, I saw this, without stuff - very sad.

 

Personally I made a fireorber as a starter, because of the dual elements. It works fine as long as you get your hands on shako + viper + storm.... the usual stuff. Which is not really hard on sc.

My second char on sc was a werewolf barbarian. Find item is PRICELESS on travincal or any of the high lvl areas to be honest. It's a bit slow, but I got many Lo's and unique items using it after a run.
Even travincal is very nice for rune drops... I know it depends on luck mostly, but I got two Jah's, a Ber, several Lo and Ohm/Vex.

The Pit is one of the most awesome places to find HRs + good gear imo.

One question: ¿I need a lot of MF from my char? Because i farm with my Hammerdin and his MF is 144.

 

That should be enough MF, however it is all about luck anyway so it does not really matter.
