    So I'm just curious.
How much mf do you have on and what's your normal route?
I finally got an infinity and can kill anything and was wondering what you guys do.
I work full time and I'm a graduate student so I want to maximize the short period of time I can play.
I only have 88% MF and I normally run a bunch of things.
Countess, Pit, Summoner, Trav, Memphis, Diablo, Nihlathak, Baal.
I just think my run takes too long. Seems like running Trav over and over again is the most efficient.

    I run 500 mf sorc->Trav->memphi->woman and mausoleum->Griswold->Andariel->pits->star wars->Izuel->Forger+Diablo
Now that you eliminated maximal number of trash from game ->Nickleback->rest of 85level places->Baal

I do not have infi yet but can kill this all easy and fast because my merc does have more damage than most players including me.

I appreciate all the insightful threads but I did my research already. I'm just curious on what YOU normally mf and how much MF you use.

Dont MF anymore, but when i used to.
It was just chaos and worldstonekeep + baal with 700+ MF. (wich included 20+ 7 mf sc's)
Have an orb sorc, so Nith was kinda annoying with all those cold immunes surrounding him.

I read that MF is not necessary on this server, and that most ppl run either with no MF at all or with around 50-100% is enough, what would you guys say? Is having 500%+ MF worth it?

If you have higher MF, you have higher chance for magic --> rare --> unique items. But MF doesen change what items monster will drop. For example Baal can drop always uniques but trashy items, which means your MF is good enough, if baal/meph (or anyone else you run the most) gives you magic or rare versions maybe you need more MF. I see lots of monsters droping normal versions of elite items when mf i low, which makes me a bit angry. :D

You have higher chance to drop ethereal crafting items with lower mf,also uniques on this server are worthless even whole set of end game armor is just lo
while rares on this server can go up to 3zods/piece

in other words, you better kill as fast as possible instead of getting mf.

I'm pretty sure the following items have better value unique than rare:
    Dimensional Shard
    Griffon's Eye
    Colossus Blade
    Hydra Bow
    Sacred Armor

I love this debate of low mf vs high mf. I think clearing as fast as possible is the key! If you can slip in some mf, that's great but don't stress it. Seems like Nihlathak is the most time efficient when you consider the items he can drop.
I don't think mf affects rune drops though.

About 200 to 300mf is normal, usually in order to have higher MF you need to sacrifice some of your damage or fcr- from which your killing speed goes down.

Some gear from when I was using my lgt sorc to MF: Shako +ist, Occy +ist, War travs 50% and about 10x 7%mf small charms. (75+80+50+70=275mf)

The routes are pretty much personal preference. I run mostly ilvl 85 areas, Nih, Trav and Mephisto plus his councils. Other than that Cows and Summoner or Countess for keys/runes. Usually I grind one area in particular until I get bored, but sometimes I combine a few areas in a single run.

    Cheers and good luck.
