How can i find Soj?

Hi.
i've been playing around two months. i have 93 necro, 91 smiter, 91 java, 89 meteorb here.
i've collect 4xBer myself, Templers might, rolled lots of skillers. But still no Soj.
Am i doing something wrong? Any tactics? i tried identify one by one and group identify.
Today i collect 40x ring and group identified. Results; 18xmanald 9xnagelring 8xraven 5xdwarf.

nm works with mf over 400 for me it dose its how i had 12x in a whole day that was ilvl 57

 

really not even 1? i take most soj's from travi hell, but nightmare is better i hear.

 

i knew MF effects drop rate. Does it also effect identify quality?

 

from my experience, you need to farm Hell TRAVINCAL. They drop tons of rings, also SOJ. I think you will find one ~250 runs.

 

Just to be clear: MF will affect the quality of rings that drop, not how many will drop. Nightmare farming is a better source for SoJ, with half the ring pool to contend with, it's more likely to be a SoJ than an undesirable. With Hell in mind, as others have stated, Travincal and/or Meph Council is also a great place for them.

I would recommend using the Advanced Item Hunting guide if you would like to see what monsters tend to drop what items. It might help you tailor your MF spots. Cheers.

Zero mf is enough for trav. If you get ring drop its already uniq so mf is useless there.

 

ok the problem is MF, but i am still confused.
100mf = 1soj/100ring drop
200mf = 2soj/200ring drop
or
100mf = 1soj/100ring drop
200mf = 2soj/100ring drop
? i mean quality vs. quantity

 

2nd options is closer. it would work like this though....(using arbitrary values)

100mf = 100 rings drop(3 uniques) - maybe soj maybe not, all rings are EQUALLY likely, which is why in Nightmare, which has fewer rings to randomly choose from, SoJ is more likely.
200mf= 100 rings drop(5 uniques) - the same number of rings will drop regardless of your MF, but now a few more will be unique than before. Same as above, randomly chooses between them.

So as it was mentioned, if some bosses seemingly only drop uniques for example...then MF isn't needed; it would only increase the chance it will be unique(which it already is).
For champs/normals/etc then MF will help determine the quality of item drops.

 

best place imo is a nm trav+hell trav or nithalak runs
i got 2 soj drops under 1 hour of hell trav

 

i do nm travs most i had like 4x sojs in 100 drops took me only 1jour 30mins as i was lagging also

best is to see what u want and hope you dont find it works when im farm nm i say i better find gores or pefr ww from nm then bam another dang soj i hate when i dont want a soj i get it when i need a soj i dont get it

RNG is very crazy thought you can go days dry nothing good them bamm a good drop happens

 

I do prefer Hell because you can find some cool items except SOJ (like runes). I have one char made for Travincal only and do tons of runs. I found a lot of cool items (including SOJ), and few decent runes (LO, OHM, GUL). Collect gold and gamble rings/amu/circ/coronet, you will find some cool items, too.

I will try today the NM Trav, just to test Angel's theory.

 

to test it can you put in 17hours or 14hours

also i do id when i have 80x rings in the cube not be4 hand

 

why do you identify rings in bulk?

No. Once the item dropped, nothing can change that. If the ring is meant to be soj, will be. There is no such thing with identify.
If i drop a griffon, no matter who or where i'll unid, the item will be the same(stats)
