[Help] HC Blizzard sorc, resistance issues...

Me and 3 buds are playing diablo 2 since of today and i barely remember anything really. Been to long! At lvl 60, we randomly got asked to get boost up to hell and also got some items by that player, awesome!

But im really struggling with -50 ress and dont really know what to do and where to farm etc. My current equipment is: The oculus, magefist, snowclash, skin of vipermagi, shako, lidless wall, war traveler, 2x dwarf star and a shitty amulet. My merc has basically no items either, except a anderiels visage. I would appreciate any kind of guidelines and also, should i swap into lightning, as it seems to be better than blizzard Got 3.3 - 3.5k dmg on my blizzard.

1. You can get resistances from various items. Annihilus/torch(you can probably even get bad ones of these for free...), socket your items and place either diamonds or Ums... A low Maras amulet could also help big time.

2. I wouldnt reccoment going lightning until you can get Infinity. Due to more monsters being inmune to light than cold...

3. Get your merc geared up asap. He doesnt need godly items to survive and deal a good amount of dmg. And remember he can use ethereal items without "breaking" them.

 

Also, i'm sure you didin't make anya quests (normal/nm/hell). Those quests will help you a lot with +res

 

Yes, like afro said do the Norm, NM, and Hell quests for +Res/+Skill/+Stat bonuses.. All three of those are important. Another thing I think is important to add is the fact that because the drop rates are so much higher it is pretty smart to start gearing in Nightmare since a lot of good items drop including runes to make some runewords strong enough for hell. You also want to gear up your merc like MrHammer recommended that is important. With three characters focusing on nightmare to gear up you should not only wreck the game but you should also get some decent experience for your level and enough gear to fuel the whole group at least up until level 80 and you start fully playing in hell. That's the best advice I can give you..

Short answer: Finish Stat Increase Quests, Login with your friends and farm nightmare for the rest of your levels and gears until you are strong enough for hell. Good luck
